Allot going on in this shot...dig the ambiet lighting and the dark skin tones...sometimes hard to get right.

This was taken in South Africa at a medical clinic (mostly AIDs cases going by other names). This boy was, I believe, the son of one of the employees of the clinic. Everywhere we went people loved to have their photo taken. He just held up his photo and I snapped the shot. Most couldn't speak english very well. But, they knew how to say "Shoot Me!"

One of our group members had a polaroid with them. They seemed to treasure these little polaroid pictures of themselves. Most don't have mirrors regularly available to them, so this is a way for them to see themselves. A number of the children didn't even recognize themselves in the pictures. Their friends would have to tell them repeatedly that the image in the picture was really them.
